About our Sod
St Augustine Floratam: For floratam, it needs at least 7 hours of full sun per day to thrive. With proper conditions, this grass will stay thick and green all year.
St Augustine Palmetto Sun & shade: Palmetto can thrive in the sun or the shade. But you still need at least 2 hours per day of sunlight.
Argentina Bahia: Bahia is the most durable type of grass that can grow here in Florida. It thrives in full sun and is drought tolerant.
Pre & Post installation of new Sod
Before installing any new grass: You must remove all old grass and weeds. If you have an irrigation system, it may be a good idea to make sure that it is in working order so that your new lawn gets all the water and nutrients that it needs to thrive. Leveling and smoothing the old soil will give the new lawn the perfect look when finished.
After the sod is laid: Water it right away for the best results. Watering it daily for 30 days after installation is extremely important. In shady areas or colder months, watering every other day will also work.
Check with your county for local water restrictions after the 30 days of daily watering.
Mowing: Do not mow your new sod until after 30 days of it being laid so that it can have enough time to settle and root together. When it is time to cut, set mower to tallest setting.
Fertilizing: Fertilizing is always important, but it is best to not put any fertilizer down until you are past 30 days post installation.
